Search Emissions to Air
Below you will find a link to the national database for emissions to air, which The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) host on behalf of The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Swedish EPA). There, you can search the total emission to air of a particular substance, which are shown in maps, diagrams and tables in Excel, at regional or local level as well as on a national level.
The national database for emissions to air holds data from the Swedish inventories, e.g. from the reporting to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) for greenhouse gases and other air pollutants. The presentations cover emissions both from diffuse sources, such as road traffic, and from point sources such as industrial facilities. The emissions are shown by county or municipality as well as on a national level.
Note that carbon dioxide emissions only represent emissions from the burning of fossil fuels.
The Swedish Pollutant Release and Transfer Register “Utsläpp i siffror” presents emissions from point sources. However, according to the Kiev Protocol, the public should also get access to information on diffuse sources. Therefore the Swedish EPA link to the national database for emissions to air at SMHI:
